Bandits again on Wednesday launched a fresh attack on Gidangizo village in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State killing a 37-year-old Nasiru Alilu and abducted 2 sisters.
The attack according to a source said, the bandits stormed the village on motorcycles at about 12.30 a.m. and ransacked houses in the community.
The source added that, the bandits also injured four persons and kidnapped two sisters, 23 year old Amina Mudi and 20 year old Zainaru Mudi.
Alilu was said to have been killed when the bandits entered his house and demanded money which he said he did not have and was said to have been shot at close range.
“The bandits were more than twelve and they were fully armed. They came on motorcycles.
They killed Alilu because he was arguing with them that he had no money on him when they asked for money. He was shot at close range.
“The bandits were going from house to house. At Alhaji Mudi’s house, they abducted his two daughters and took them away. Several people were also injured by the bandits.” He added.
Confirming the incident to AIT, Spokesman of the Command Gambo Isah said, “The bandits were at the village and they killed one thirty-seven-year-old man whose name was given as Nasiru Alilu. They also abducted two ladies, Zainaru Alhaji Mudi, 20 and Amina Alhaji Mudi, 23. Four persons were injured in the attack.”
He added that investigation is currently ongoing as police reinforcement has been drafted to the area.
The attack is coming not more than 48 hours after three Governors Aminu Masari, Bello Muhammed and Aminu Tambuwal of Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto States respectively visited the special army super camp IV on an assessment tour.
